Melania, who offered wet Texans thoughts and prayers, receives $18,000 a month for her stylist from her transactional hubby’s PAC, funded by small-dollar donations from Mr. and Mrs. MAGA. That’s more than one meteorologist’s salary diverted toward Louboutins and filler.

You watch the news so I don't have to so let me ask you this: in all of the pearl-clutching over the poor little ICE agents who must wear masks or their families will be mass murdered, has anyone suggested that wearing a goddamn UNIFORM and carrying some kind of official ID would go a long way toward calming shit down? I don't want to be grabbed off the street by some dude in a mask, but if he's also in a made up uniform that is obviously not associated with any LEA or military just normalizes extra-judicial kidnapping.

And who we saw on Jan 6 video trying to kill a police officer by shoving a flagpole into his brain, leaving him for dead”.

Gotta use those pardoned “soldiers” for something.😞

My 2 cents takeaway from today's Substack - I know you all know about the propaganda emails we senior citizens received from the 'Social Security Administration'. Welp, after your image of the (I guess) Twitter post, and the Grok AI explanation, I have no doubt it was the DOGE minions that created it and sent it out. We are being propagandized to its fullest extent.

My other comment is - sorry my for cynicism - but after watching all MAGA's/GOP vote against the American people, what assurances have they been given? Possible interference in the next big vote that they won't lose their seats? I'm usually not this way but how can we not consider this? Have a good day everyone.

Hey, some of us are wondering if you two SUPERHEROES could start a call for a nationwide General Strike and Boycott? ---one where nobody goes to work (except those who are actually doing good in the world) and nobody supports businesses, except ones that don't support MAGA!!??

“Note 17: We told y’all Friday about the disgusting smear piece the New York Times ran against Mamdani. Since then, they have doubled down, lying to their readers about the need to publish it. Well last night, Semafor revealed that NYT editors were worried they’d get “scooped” by prominent racist Chris Rufo. What the effing fuck is happening at that paper?!”

Really Chris Rufo? That racist scumbag!? They were scared of getting out played by a con artist racist, so they platformed a hit piece by eugenics pushing white supremacist?

My Substacks on the Kerner Commission & the Black Press challenging Nazism highlighting the criticism of the MSM of their time was even more justified. As today they have not learned their lesson.

My prayers are with the people that lost loved ones this past week-end. We all should be up in arms about the weather service being gutted. Doesn't matter what party you belong to. Weather tragedies are going to continue and people will not have advanced warnings. How are they going to protect themselves. Putting a finger up to see what direction the wind is blowing is not going to do it. Take the money from the corrupt ICE and give it to the weather bureau. ICE does not need that kind of money. They won't identify themselves, wear masks, and have no badges or warrants. It's a bunch of corrupt people getting their jollies out of harming people. Sounds like this whole administration to me. People should be seeing the clip of Bondi saying that the Epstein files were on her desk and now saying that there is no Epstein files. They should see it over and over until they can no longer deny the lie. It needs to be put out in the public's face daily until everyone starts asking questions. It is a lie that can be shown and people can't ignore it. It might just get some people to start thinking what other lies are there.

I'm watching the 3rd season of the Squid Game. For those of you who are unfamiliar with that series, it's about a bunch of desperately poor people who have signed up for a chance to win billions of won (Korean currency). Once they sign up for the games, they are then taken to an island where they learn that there can be only one winner. In order to win the other players must die. Who benefits from this mind blowing sadistic crazy "game?" Rich people who get to watch this tragedy unfold. And they enjoy it! They even make their own bets as the poor people play against each other hoping to stay alive. To me, this is now real life in the good old USA.

Why do Abbott and cos play disaster Barbie have to spend more time at the press conferences thanking trump and even Melania (who is only there to get paid.) I can't even watch the updates due to the preliminary ass kissing. Let's see how much he really does for Texas because he "loves" them so much. "Texans come together better than several other states" (we will not name). Greg Abbott.

Thank you for the Judy Blume reference, cussing newsletter guys. The laughter and nostalgia helped. And I live in the South, so your well-placed use of “y’all have a blessed day” always brings a chuckle.

And note two: When can we make stupidity a felony? Because JFC.

Note two: Oh HELL no! Shove that head back up there so her shoulders are firmly ensconced up against her manly buttocks. Then we can't hear her as often or as loudly.

Note five: Someone should ask Grok "Why does everyone hate Nazis?" or "Why are Nazis bad?" I am curious to know the answer to those, but not curious enough that I will join that piece of shit after being off for three years.

Note fifteen: I have been to Mexico often, have lived in Texas and I think Mexicans are wonderful people. And I think it wonderfully amazing that they still sent rescue squads after everything that Trump and his fascist lackeys have said and done about and to Mexico. I just hope our assholes don't literally kick these guys out when the emergency is over.

Note seventeen: That rag is barely good enough to use in a birdcage. AND the dipshits there have the nerve to put their crap behind a paywall, and what you wrote about it today just helps to cement my opinion. Thanks, guys!

Pity Party: You can't START laughing? That shit gave me the giggles! The only thing that I can see that would be better for the Democrats would be if the Republicans ran Stephen Miller for president in 2028.

FEMA Who? All I can say is, FEMA did right by me after Hurricane Milton damaged my house last October. I was immediately given money for food to cover what had been lost and to make sure that I had food in the near future, and even got a little money to help with my hurricane deductible. Had I needed to stay elsewhere had my house flooded, they would have helped with that too. But, now, Trump sees the Treasury as his money and he NEVER spends his own money... But, my insurance company is nowhere as good or as prompt as FEMA was.

Note two: Would you guys please bother to read the articles you link? You said Marge has her head up her ass, and the article very clearly says she has her head in the clouds. I've never met Marge, and would refuse to do so, so I don't know what's up her ass. If you say it's clouds, and you have reason to know, then I stand corrected.

Note three: My Fred's Substack today, called "Too Many Cooks Spoil the Broth," is about the same thing. I'm sure a ton of stuff is about that. And for the record, I agree with you that Mike Little Johnson's offer of prayer just ain't gonna cut it. Now, if Mike Little Johnson and his family, and Greg Abbott and his family (if he has one), and Ted Cruz and his family, and Donnie and whoever claims to be his family on a given day, were all killed in that flood, I'd agree that some dimwit was welcome to make it all right with some good old prayers.

Note seven: Amanda Gorman is 35? I would have thought early 20s. Wasn't she in high school when she wrote that poem? She's on my list with Crockett, Buttigieg, Ocasio-Cortez, Warren, Raskin, Pritzker, and some others.

Note nine: "Follow the money." A UFC fight means money for the McMahons. Come on, guys, one hand washes the other.

Note 13: So SCOTUS won't take its foot off the gas, either. That should inspire the Dem majority we're getting after November of next year.

Note 14: No, I don't want to see how dumb and self-destructive this country can be. And I already know anyway.

Note 15: Wow, we live that close to real humans?

Note 17: It does make you wonder what the NYT is bucking for. Or what terrifies them.

"Pity party:" I must find my list of the interesting things Elon does, and the insightful comments Donnie makes about him. I know it's around here somewhere.

"FEMA who?:" Imagine having a government agency that acts in the interest of the public. It sounds a little crazy, but we should check to see if any other countries do anything like that.

"Today's clips," paragraph three: "could" face?

Amanda Gorman is 27 and was already well-known for her poetry before 2020. At Biden’s inauguration, she was 23. So if your point is that she can’t run for President because she’s not 35, then read the article! It says she wants to run in 2036!

Expand full comment
Fred Jonas's avatar

Yes, that was my point.

She was certainly a highly impressive poet, and the message was magnificent.

You didn't say she planned to go to law school, which she might already have finished by 27, so I don't know what her preparation will be. But we have some spectacular elected representatives who never prepared that way. I would not for an instant rule her out. Even some of my top favorites, like Buttigieg and Ocasio-Cortez, did not go to graduate school of any kind.
