"But goddamnit it’s time to start getting as nasty as the deranged dumbshits we’re up against. "

FUCKIN' A RIGHT ON!

Taking "the high road" means nothing to those who don't care and only know the low road.

No former presidents should attend the inauguration to protest the decision to raise the flag to full staff, thus disrespecting the American tradition of lowering the flag for a 30-day period of national mourning. Biden should be there, however — peaceful transfer of power.

Sorry to be a _Debbie Downer_ but we very well may not retain the right to vote in 2026. I’m sorry, but that’s their plan.

If you've been watching the events in NC, it seems like a distinct possibility. I mean, a wannabe supreme court justice trying to throw out votes of citizens who have voted here for a decade. It's unbelievable he is anything but laughed out of court. He should be charged with election fraud. But then we did that to a guy several years ago who was forging ballots and he recently ran again and won. They won't do it outright, not the first time, but this is their practice run for throwing out votes in every state when they have complicit rethuglicans on the benches.

Yeah. What’s happening in NC is horrible. I’m so sorry.

We're just lucky to have had Joe and our Dem Governor on the job. Made all the difference in response from last bad storm on the coast when Trump approved 1% of requested emergency funds.

Hopefully we got ahead of this travesty in LA area and released money to help before the demon takes office.

People are so devastated after this kind of terror. They don't need a bunch of tourists asking for directions.

For those of you who haven't read it, try to find the essay written by Joan Didion in 1969 titled, "The Santa Anas".

It certainly exposes the lies being told about who's to blame for the wildfires. A very worthwhile read and less than 3 pages.

So far they have told us everything that they will do to this country. And the unwashed masses are apparently on board with the plan...that they can't read or understand...but..GO BRANDON. Oh yes...and own the Libs...YEE HAW.

"Note 16: The state of New Jersey is stockpiling abortion pills before Trump takes office. It’s pretty horrifying they have to do this and also pretty smart. More: ABC"

And just what do the good Christians and their deranged ilk think they are going to do with all the unwanted children they are about to receive, with God's blessings of course.

Oh...that's right, "Faster Farms", Coal mining conglomerates, oil monopolies, and maybe they'll bring back rug weaving..."cause nothing says cheap labor like starving children.

Sick.....

And don't forget the chicken factories and slaughter houses. LIke the old textile factories, those little hands can get into all kinds of dangerous places easier than adult hands.

Sorry not being facetious. I think you are in the same space where I am. I feel completely defeated and powerless. I'm trying to dig out of it because of exhausted as I am, I will not go gently into that good night.

Rather than passing the mantle, Biden needs to wrap it, real tightly, around the blob's neck.

I hate to be the bearer of good news that differs with the news here, but LA did not "survive another night of high winds" - because there were no high winds. The wind situation in LA is the same it has been since Monday morning: dead fucking calm, with slight breezes 2-3mph occasionally. This is reported by numerous friends from Hidden Hills to La Crescenta, and is the same this morning. The skies are clear, there is no smoke from the Palisades fire 5 miles south. My friend in La Crescenta drove east yesterday and saw no smoke from the Altadena fire. (Of course this doesn't mean there's nothing - houses still have fires in them). Even the NWS admitted this morning that the Santa Ana "underperformed" (their word) on Tuesday. Everyone I know, and everyone my neighbor knows, since he is querying his friends as I am, is asking "where's the wind?" If you're in LA and you can report anything different, please post a reply.

San Diego had some bloody hard winds yesterday Not sure about today but we shall see. I don't think there's an area of the California coast that hasn't been devastated at some time in the past decade or two by wildfires. Rolling blackouts started yesterday by SDG&E especially in the mountains to prevent potential disasters. We collected our "Vital documents" go bins. Disaster preparedness sometimes helps sometimes other nature doesn't give a fuck.

But nothing was going to stop my SIL and her bestie from their planned 2 week vacation along the CA coast (flying out from the East coast). I mean seriously, people in this country are so fecking mindless. Apparently, due to issues around LA, they were going to fly from SF to San Diego so I am so happy to hear you say this. Not wishing bad for the people of San Diego but the idiots out there who think the sun will always shine on them no matter what bad judgment they use. They could have easily postponed until Spring. Both have plenty of money, but nope, full steam ahead.

We saw that here in NC after Helene. Tourists would stop me in the street asking about trails. Yeah, good luck finding one open (at the time). All the forests & mountain roads were devastated by landslides & downed trees. Human are not the superior creatures they think they are.
