I just read something that said the work requirements part takes effect in 2026.

Very interesting тАФ thanks for the link, Chris. Mind you, the date is given as December 2026, which means after the Midterm elections. I think if the GOP just repeat the vague term "work requirements" without highlighting the nitty gritty harsh details, it'll sound just fine to most Americans. The Victorian division of the poor into those who are "deserving" or "undeserving" still holds sway. (As an aside, I'll note that dear old Bill Clinton тАФ forever a b├кte noir to progressives such as I тАФ signed "The Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act" in 1996.)
