This isn’t exactly related to today’s newsletter, but last night I heard a soccer fan interviewed about his reasons for avoiding the FIFA World Cup. Besides the fact that the tickets are outrageously expensive, he said he was mad at FIFA for giving the president the prize for being a unifier and uniting people worldwide. The truth is, though, the president has quickly united people worldwide. Against him. In that way, he is the ultimate unifier.
Against US too. The first election, we got a pass as a country. With his re-election, the attitude is now basically fuck the Americans for bringing us this guy. I don't blame 'em.
Friends of mine who have traveled in the past year have told me that they’ve been yelled at by very angry Europeans. They feel like they’re on an apology tour, and that Americans are unwelcome.
That DOJ filing on the ballroom injunction is insane, and any lawyer who committed that filing to the court should be ordered into Remedial Law Degree 101 , starting in kindergarten!
