Here's the thing about the Maine race. Pearl-clutching Susan Collins, regardless of her "concerns" will always vote to fuck over her constituents and every other American by voting the Republican party line.

Platner, on the other hand, will vote in the best interests of Americans.

I'm willing to accept his rationale for the tattoo. Regarding the accusations of former girlfriends from years ago – can you say "Well-funded Smear Campaign"?

Just to keep fucking geriatric, lying Susan Collins from going back to DC, I support Platner for Senate!

I don’t live in Maine, so I don’t get a vote, but I agree with you.

As more information comes out, this looks like a politically-motivated attack against Platner by a right-wing political operative. (Take a look at who she’s worked for in the past.) Apparently her timeline of when she supposedly dated Platner isn’t adding up, among other things. Hers are the worst of the accusations.

The other accusations against him by a couple ex-girlfriends aren’t great, but aren’t anything unforgivable from what I’ve seen, at least so far. And he does seem to have taken accountability for his past behavior.

Well stated. For decades we Democrats have won the "purity battle" only to get our asses kicked in the "electoral war," resulting in major setbacks to women's rights, minority rights, voting rights (all thanks to the GOP/MAGA SCOTUS jurists) and have our nation on the brink of autocracy.

With regards to Platner:

When you need to get somewhere in an emergency and you have to settle for what's available you take the ride that will get you the closest. This is an emergency and Platner is that ride. You don't have to like it or support it after you use it.

Good point GN.

That said, what a waste to end up with a Fetterman, Sinema, again.

Dan Roek's avatar

What evidence do you have that Platner will be anything like those other two?

We have an Administration that lies even when it does not have to lie. It's genetic, I think. So...why should we believe any DOL numbers on employment or anything else? Is there an independent and credible different source who could verify employment numbers?

The fucking POS is sleeping all the fucking time and the problem is, is that he keeps waking up. I also wish it was contagious. Period.

Hey ST., Fucking amazing that Rubio sat there and just lied about the sleeping urinal cake. I mean did FOX news put up an AI piece with the orange stain with his eyes open for the Kool aide cult that watches that propaganda? Geeze.

Platner Accuser Is a GOP Activist Who Co-Founded ‘Ladies for Kavanaugh’

Lyndsey Fifield, one of three women who described to the New York Times alleged “unsettling” behavior by Graham Platner when they dated him in the 2010s, co-formed a group called “Ladies for Kavanaugh” in defense of then Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, when he faced accusations of teenage drunken behavior and alleged sexual assault.

In October 2018, amid a fierce fight over Kavanaugh’s nomination, the New York Post reported: “Inez Stepman and Lindsey [sic] Fifield are two millennial women who co-founded the group Ladies for Kavanaugh to show their support for the nominee when they felt that view was being left out of the public discourse. Their day jobs are in conservative politics, Stepman at [the] Independent Women’s Forum and Fifield at the Heritage Foundation. (Their pro-Kavanaugh group was formed on their own time.)”

“In the wake of the baseless, 11th-hour accusations orchestrated to stop Kavanaugh’s confirmation, we couldn’t stay silent anymore,” Fifield told the outlet.

The New York Times, however, was silent about this pretty pertinent part of Fifield’s background when it dropped its big ‘scoop’ on Graham Platner’s “volatile” and “toxic” relationships with former girlfriends, including Fifield, “that were unsettling and at times emotionally wrenching.”...

That Pillow girl was a snarky little bitch. Nancy should have punched her in the face! No she shouldn’t have but the image of that in my head is quite satisfying 🤣

Hey BL., Spit on her.

(of course that's wrong, but better than some other ideas I'm sure folks have).

I've been reading the woman accusing Platner actually works for MAGA. Haven't heard them deny it or any other stories suggesting this information is wrong. Considering it was the NYT who originally broke the story I'm starting to believe it is a smear campaign. Not like they haven't done this in the past.

Btw, I Knew It, I Knew You is wonderful!

Vanilla Ice is such a joke. I saw the interview where he is actually begging to perform. It's probably the only time anyone wants to hear him.

I’m not a resident of Maine, but love Ogunquit, not just because of Stephen King. I don’t have a say, but while I’m not a fan of Graham Platner&think a Nazi tatoo unforgivable. Treatment of women is very high on my list of concerns. I actually think Susan Collins is even worse.

Since when did Trump, a racist, become interested in the NBA.? He's only there to f****** up the whole thing.! Don't let us down in New York!

They don't have to "rig" the employment numbers, just that they've fired anyone at the agency who knew math.

Oh please. Just listen to Graham Platner’s interview from last night. Al Franken is shaking his head at your comment and screaming, “WTF!”

I read this morning on Daily Dose of Democracy that the women who came forward with the allegations against Platner are all repuglicans. You might want to read that piece.

Rochelle Parks's avatar

One of the so-called accusers is a GOP op and has now claimed the NY Times twisted her story. Why are you so against Platner? The people of Maine chose to support him via giving him $$$, very little to Mills. An accusation isn't a confession. Meanwhile, the House has 2 accused woman beaters, a Sen candidate with 2 girlfriends whose wife has chosen to divorce, and so many others. Dem purity tests are why Dems lose and GOP keeps winning.
