"Let me speak, that would be helpful ..." = "Let me get some more lies out of my mouth as quickly as possible so that I can distract you from that last lie, which apparently you didn't like. I have more! You'll like those!"

I think you nailed it again. I'm looking forward to the next blue wave without Elon Musk up to his corruption during the primaries. I hope he's on the moon stuck

Don’t count on Elon stepping back.

Thank you for presenting the news in a fun and encouraging way! Unbelievable that Coryn said that on NewsNation. Yay Michigan, Missouri, and Kansas!

"Congrats to Abdul and his campaign and congrats to Haley Stevens on going the distance. Now let’s get on the same team again. Please."

YES! This is the energy we need now. It's a brilliant idea for the MI Dems to be holding a unity rally for all the nominees on Friday, featuring Pete Buttigieg. The time for arguing is over, the time for beating the daylights out of MAGA republicans is here!

SophieM's avatar

"congrats to Haley Stevens on going the distance." Stevens doesn't deserve any congratulations for her AIPAC funded smear campaign. Corporate, etc., owned Dems are going to have to "get on the same team," if they want to win in November.

Jane in NC's avatar

There's that spirit of unity we all need. 🤦‍♀️ There is such a thing as being a gracious winner, you know.

SophieM's avatar

Being a gracious winner? That's not the issue. The fact remains there is a definite rift in the Democratic party that will take more than a "kumbaya" moment to repair.

Jane in NC's avatar

Being a gracious winner is exactly the issue. The primaries are the time to fight it out over issues; once there's a winner it's up to everyone to unite behind the nominee. But it seems you're part of the faction that would rather fight a civil war than win a senate race. So, here's some food for thought: According to the pre-election polling, El-Sayed was on track for a decisive win. Instead, it turned out to be a 1% race. If you look at the county-level results, that should give you civil warriors pause, because it shows how much work the Dems need to do to win in November. That means ALL the Dems. And that's where the 'gracious winner' part comes in. You NEED those Stevens voters if you're going to prevail in November. Pretending otherwise, or leaning into your grievances is a recipe for a Rogers win. The ball's in your court.

SophieM's avatar

Don't make assumptions about "what faction" I'm part of. You're deliberately refusing to understand what I'm referring to. And, I'm not a Michigan resident, I live in California.

Yeah, EXACTLY, we need ALL Dems to win in November, so maybe you should be paying attention to the fact that quite a few Democrats will not be supporting El-Sayed, they will fight his win and most likely pour funds into the campaign of his Republican opponent. Btw, the reason it was so close is because of all the AIPAC, corporate billionaire funding for Stevens.

Save your lecturing for these Democrats, among others:

Someone needs to tell these particular Democrats to get on that unity page:

"Abdul El-Sayed beat Rep. Haley Stevens in Tuesday’s Michigan Democratic Senate primary, overcoming over $60 million in outside funding, mostly from pro-Israel groups, and late endorsements of Stevens from current Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and prominent national Democrats like Rep. James Clyburn. El-Sayed will face Republican Mike Rogers in the November general election. If elected, he will be the first Muslim-American to serve in the U.S. Senate."

Jane in NC's avatar

I'd like to see the evidence of all the Dems you claim will be actively working against El-Sayed. If they do, shame on them. They're no better than the Dems who refused to vote to Kamala Harris in 2024 and either sat out the race or threw away their votes away on non-viable candidates. ALL means ALL. It will take ALL of us to beat MAGA in November.

On the subject of MI, I used to live there, and the reason Haley Stevens carried the counties she did is because they lean moderate/conservative. Yes, she had lots of PAC money [booo!] and endorsements [not a problem, so did El-Sayed]. But the primary is over. We're in the general election now, and it's time we all start rowing in the same direction. Starting today.

Re Note 19 - That brave New Yorker! Especially in the face of what ICE did to Alex Pretti and Rene Good. Definitely gives me hope.

Can't because he will ßhut down all his satellites that we paid for.

All us Dems are hoping that there will now be a unifying message for the Democrat Party for November.

Like, what are Dems going to do Day 1 when they take back the House? We need a bullet-pointed list of goals. All I hear is "defeat Trump", which is (obviously) needed, BUT now we need a plan.

This is just ludicrous and insanity that all of us Dems have heard NOTHING. We will lose in 2028 with no plan.

No information about MN House Rep Tom Emmer, other than he was a 'no show' at Farm Fest. Pete Stauber's comments were not helpful... and there is again no transparency about Emmer and his absence. Another Mitch situation? So many cover ups at every turn. The R's are secretive, manipulative, self-absorbed, corrupt, and duplicitous... can't trust a one of 'em. Too bad Musk wasn't a passenger on that rocket to the moon.

Thanks for all the information you put together this morning. Glad the MI primary is over. I believe MI residents will get behind El-Sayed because they don't want a Trump pick. Susan Collins doesn't dissent alone. I'm wondering if Murkowski will reject Blanche, too. And Talarico is a force! Texas voters are lucky to have him as a choice. So much terrible crap going on, yet so much to be positive about.

Fetterman criticizes some Democrats for not protesting 30,000 to 40,000 protestors killed by Iran, but has no problem with 73,000+ killed by Israel in Gaza, a large percentage of which are children.

Yeah, that's fair. NOT! 🙃

Cowardly Cornyn. He does just enough to make it seem like he gives a shit. Then ultimately the shit crawls back in, and he stays shitty.

Note 2: He's not retiring because there is still money to be grifted.

Note 6: Shocked, not shocked.

Note 14: Talarico would benefit from listening to black voters (mainly black women voters). They tend to want things that better their lives, which also end up bettering everyone's lives. I'll believe the polls when he wins.

Note 18: Ice cream is safe unless it is Blue Bell's

Regarding Note 6. Blance wants to bring back the Comstock Laws, which would prohibit doctors from states where abortion is now legal from prescribing and mailing safe abortion meds to states where it is illegal. This would also include making the mailing of contraceptives illegal, so those who get their medications mailed to them would no longer be able to get them but would have to go in person. So, no more sites like Nurx or Hers , etc.

What I don't think these "conservative" Repuglicans get is by confirming him and he does bring back Comstock, this also shuts down online porn, even online sites that aren't necessarily porn like OnlyFans. This would also shut down some online dating sites. So they would lose Grindr as well!!i

Note 13; Aaron Rodgers lied about getting the shot in order to play. Methinks he's had too many head injuries ..

Note 15: we DO NOT need pastors in politics, Republican OR Democratic!! Religion out of politics. This is just furthering the mess we've gotten into already.

Fetterman is both a Republican and brain gorked. Throw the sloppy bum out, PA.

Please keep talking about Brian Poindexter, Max Miller’s opponent, whenever possible. Too few of the stories about Miller include anything about Brian Poindexter. As a resident in that district, it is not as conservative as it is being portrayed and I think we have a real chance to flip the seat.
