First of all, statistically, the odds of Lillian Bonsignore failing as Commissioner are far, far less than a Tesla catching on fire. Second of all, the Commissioners chair has often been filled with people without ANY fire or EMS service experience, including the outgoing Commissioner. Bonsignore is extremely qualified for this role because EMS, although a smaller workforce, handles around 70% of all calls the FD receives per day. Additionally, at large mass casualty incidents that include fires, building collapses, etc. the Chief of
department becomes the “Incident Commander,” not the Commissioner. So a lack of firefighting experience is moot. She’s going to do well. It was important to me to speak up because most of the criticisms I have seen are coming form people who are totally unqualified and are just sharing outdated opinions.
Every single thing he says, posts or does, has me screaming out loud, "what if anyone else did this? They'd be cooked!" I cannot get over how this incompetent, lying, narcissist, and total fraud, playing President keeps on keeping on. Yet, their prejudices and biases negated people who did not look like them with regard to skin color and sex. Over time, women as well as men/women of color fought hard for the right to vote, drive, hold bank accounts, sign a rental lease in their names, apply for a credit card, etc... The list goes on of injustices created by a very simplistic, but controlling patriarchal society whose aim is to suppress and control those considered the weaker sex and/or inferior of sex and race including our Native Americans/Amerindians (think of the Trail of Tears, however, the pilfering and slaughting began long before that period). Our US history, going back to 1000 A.D. when Leif Erickson discovered N. America, but Amerindians had already migrated to here as the first human beings who arrived via a land bridge from Asia and Siberia approximately 13,000 to 13,500 years ago. These people, the first North Americans, were known collectively as Clovis people.

To resume where I was headed, in this 21st century, the actions taken place in the US by the alt-right conservative base since the 2015 elections are indeed, to say the least, sickening to the core in their very attempts to permanently strip away hard earned freedoms from our women, African-Americans, people of color, transgenders, gays, and the list goes on. To suddenly be stripped of individual freedoms which were valiantly fought hard for by our former brothers and sisters is, indeed, a very bitter pill to swallow and can be likened to a horse breaking out the barn stall door and running away or a runaway train.
Food for thought: What are you willing to do should your lifelong freedoms be reined in and forever stripped away by these alt-right conservative males who are attempting to turn back the clocks to an unrecognizable and foreign era?
