We've known for a while now that they're peeing in their pants, and assuming as submissive a posture as they can. Whether it's Murkowski or the Republicans who confide in Booker, they have no place to go. They're watching their party lose elections no one thought they would lose (one in LA and two in FL yesterday). Of course they're pathetically hanging onto their anonymity. Booker is right. They have enough problems. If they told him something in confidence, he shouldn't also put them in daddy's crosshairs. Jane in NC is right that the issue is character, but it's not Booker's job to grow them up.
And further, if Booker named names of people who told him things in confidence, 1) they'd never tell him another word, and 2) they'd defensively retreat to the positions they think are safe and will keep them out of trouble.
The fact that they confided in him, and whatever conversation he also had with them, is worth a lot. He might help them separate themselves from this twisted cult, or empower them to quit Congress.

My profession wouldn't work without that reassuring guarantee, and I don't see that senators' approaching Booker would, either. Blabbing confidential material is no way to make friends. Or inspire trust.
