It's 100% true that Murkowski sucks it. But let's not give much cred to Collins, who set the bar really low; she would've voted Yes too if she'd gotten breadcrumbs like Murkowski. And Tillis? Only now he realizes what evil he's associated with for over a decade, and cowardly makes the decision to flee? The Republican party is scum. We know it; we must get them out of our government - city, county, state and national level. Help register and GOTV!

I think Collins only voted no because she could do so without impacting its passing. If she were the deciding vote, she would have caved. It's all political theater with them.

I thought it was funny that Tillis said "we broke a promise" when repubs have been lying for years - like telling the truth was an actual concept to them.

I wish I could send your rant to our GOP rep CiscoMAGA. Oooh so tempting. But instead, I'll take the restrained road and protest outside his office this morning. Still, soooooo tempting to copy and paste...

We can protest until we are old and gray, and nothing will change because of protests. They just don't give a shit. I just read in the New Republic that in La Crosse, Wisconsin, 130 people marched to the Republican congressman’s office demanding to be met with, demanding to be heard—and they would not open the door. You know what? If i had been one of those 130 people, it wouldn't be a matter of them not opening the door. If i had to tear the door off the hinges, i would. I've been saying all along, if you want this to change, these a-holes need to be MORE afraid of their constituents than they are of Trump. If it takes terrifying the shit out of them with a mob (retribution is fair play, Jan 6!) than that's what needs to happen.

'They' may not care but protesting is our voice. It is empowering. To their detriment 'they' can continue to ignore us. I will not sit by idly.

And let's not give the chicken little Dems a free pass... David Hogg/Youth Save Democracy is so right. Lazy Dems need to be primaried, regardless of age. We need to demand campaign finance reform (among so many other things, like expanding SCOTUS) as an amendment to our constitution. I'm tired of Democrats thinking they should play nice in the sandbox when it's evil they're dealing with. Until we have another party that's viable, f*ck bipartisanship.

1000% Lita!!! The establishment Dems just do not seem to be getting it. I am now good with term limits and I'm anti-legacy congressional seats. 'They' seem to fall into this entitlement phase and we end up with what we have. Democrats have lost their way through bipartisanship. It has only moved the party to the right; we need to remember our roots!

There are a few who have been fighting the good fight for years. AOC, Ilhan Omar, Jasmine Crockett, Pramila Jayapal, Elizabeth Warren, Corey Booker, Chris Murphy..

Well I'll be! Women and minorities, except for Sen Murphy. I know I missed a few, but c'mon.. no wonder women of color are so tired.

I really do love you guys. I scroll through my emails to read The Alt Media to start my day. Made my day with the news on Swaggert - pure poison. You know, PA has a type of Repub streak that runs through it. I have had to part ways with a BFF from PA who had worked at Penn State for years. She turned into an anti-vaxxer and has conspiracy beliefs. Her family borders with same ideals. So not really surprised at the Fetterman debacle either. What's up with Pennsylvanians? Thank you Adam & Sam. Substack needs to give us emojis .......

How many calls do you think Trump made to Murkowski? What did he promise her? What did he threaten her with? Did she actually believe he will fulfill his promises to her? She disgusts me in ways I didn’t think were possible. The world is not fair but it is just. She will suffer the consequences of her actions before she dies.

While I'm as angry at Murkowski as everyone else, I'm disappointed that Rep. McGovern thought casual misogyny ("cheap date") was a great way to express his feelings. I also wish you all wouldn't have cheered it. We can be angry at Murkowski AND the other 49 GOP senators who voted for the MAGA Murder Budget bill without resorting to ugly stereotypes.

I refer to myself as a cheap date because I don’t drink. I find it so discouraging that with every act of evil that happened yesterday this is what you’re focused on. I honestly don’t know how to ever win anything if this is how we’re going to react to our own party fighting back.

I can walk and chew gum at the same time. You may refer to yourself as a cheap date but the cultural lexicon associates that phrase with women. And if you need a refresher as to why we must fight for women's equality at every turn, I point you toward the Sean Combs verdict and the number of Democrats who supported Andrew Cuomo. Misogyny is a spectrum where casual asides normalize increasingly worse behavior. It'd be nice if those in our party understood this better.

Maybe it’s true what they say about us — we care more about policing someone’s language than we do helping people. This has been the most discouraging exchange I’ve had in a while and it seriously makes me wonder why we’re even bothering with our newsletter.

That's the fear. How about we focus on getting food to starving people before we scrutinize responses to hunger. Eat first. Debate language later.

Thank you. It seems that there is more attention paid to the votes of women senators than to all the men senators who voted to pass this evil bill.

I'm so glad you wrote this. I have been fighting such female stereotypes (and women's body parts being used to put down men) since the 70s. Our culture is still accepting such references. I, too am angry at Murkowski, of course. But that comment was inappropriate and made me cringe. Word choice matters.

She is a "cheap date" if all she got out of selling the American people down the road for a Harpoon. Part of the problem with the Democrats are playing nice & the bullies in the GOP & tRump administration are just bulldozing over us and are going to win! So grow some fucking balls Misty or be that little prime Democrat & watch your Democracy fall!

Please go to Change.org The People' Petition For Global Against Authoritarianism and read the one dated May 5, 2025. After reading that read the one just below it dated 5 days ago. If you agree, sign it and pass it on. It may be a way to stop this regime and hold everyone accountable. Thanks for reading it. We have to do something to stop this regime and what it is doing to our country. The lives that will be lost, the families that are being fractured, the pain and loosing America, our country to this senseless hurt. Let's get rid of them and make our country strong. What it once was, and will be again.

Subject for discussion: what kind of government will we have after the transition Trump reign ends? He will die eventually and it won't survive without him. I expect capitalism will hang on until we destroy the planet so I'm guessing some sort of corporate thing. What do you imagine?

Any bets on when that hypothetical example about Seal Team 6 from the Trump vs USA ruling one year ago is going to become reality?
