It’s Thursday. There are 117 days until the midterm elections. The trouble with bribe jets, a huge number in Texas and it’s time for Trump to pay E. Jean.
So God damn frustrating JJ., Every single day..all the headlines start with that odious name, doing something odious. EVERY GOD DAMN DAY. oooo, sorry about that, we're so frustrated here...as is pretty much every sane person in America...lol
There’s a useful distinction buried in the Goofus/Gallant joke:
Not everyone who is correct about the threat, is fit to be an instrument against it.
Movements get in trouble when they treat anger, courage, and public usefulness as interchangeable traits. They aren’t. Some people are valuable because they can say the thing nobody else will say. Some people are valuable because they can sit in a room for eight hours and not become the story. Yes, I miss Biden too — despite him not being a good US president, just one of the best ones.
The disaster is when we put the first person in the second job.
Opposition and leadership are separate skills.

I remember highlights. I can't believe Trump's response about Platner. Is the woman credible? He's such a slime ball. This is a horrible time to be an American. I'm sad about Bonnie Tyler too. I'm glad he had to pay E.Gene Carroll as well.
Hey SJ., I know you know better, same guy...'grab her by the pussy', 'piggy'. Until E. Gene has the money in her pocket I won't believe it. And when/if she does get it, she had better have some great security. These people are evil. And yes, it is a horrible time and an embarrassing time to be an American. But we are all here doing the best we can, so that's a good thing.
You know what SJ., It’s OK to think ‘I can’t believe it’. It’s just automatic, it’s what normal people would think. Most people like myself & some people on this amazing site… read what’s going on and their brains short out. And the backup batteries we bought back at the start of 2024 don’t work and we can’t find our solar chargers…so we are left to scream collectively into the void, and read Sam & Adam so we don’t just jump off a random, convenient cliff.
Lorenzo Salgado Araujo's name should be said every time we say Renee Good & Alex Pretti. I am sure there are others too. Unfortunately their names are getting lost in the insanity of ICE and Donald
Reading Goofus and Gallant was one of the first things my siblings and I did each month when the Highlights book arrived, then on to Hidden Pictures. Thanks for bringing back fond memories of my childhood!
Everyone needs to go out and see the fabulous documentary, "Ask E. Jean". It shows you why she's able to keep fighting. And I hope that scotus keeps its horrible hands out of it so she can collect. E. Jean is awesome!!! (Needless to say, Alina Habba is not!!)
16 Hoping she'll be ok, whatever that is. All the gross bastards doing dastardly things and sure, she didn't go to jail, but she also no longer has the job that she obviously cared about and won't be at to help people with her decency and compassion.
And I also loved the Highlights; made me wade into the cool waters over to memory lane.
What I'm hoping for LH., Is what has happened with a lot of the prosecutors and agents that got fired from the DOJ for doing their jobs. Glen Kirschner and Legal AF have pieces about how some of those professionals have been hired by state AG's and other law firms. Law firms and states that are going after the regime. I'm hoping that something like that opens up for Judge Dugan. She apparently is loved by the people she served and is good at her job. And was railroaded.
Hey C.K., Formerly referred to as 'The Brown shirts'...Nazi Germany.
The Brownshirts, officially known as the Sturmabteilung (SA) or Storm Troopers, were the original paramilitary wing of the Nazi Party. Founded in 1921 by Adolf Hitler, they functioned as street thugs who used violent intimidation, riots, and brutality to destroy political opposition and propel the Nazis to power in Germany.
Loved the Highlights reference!
Hey JK., For those SP's here who are not over 100 years, Here is a good visual on what Sam & Adam are talking about;

My grandson still gets Highlights--and Goofus and Gallant are still there, still doing their thing.
Hey Djw.,I played all the games, loved it. Yes so refreshing to seeing kids actually engaged with something other than a device.
Hey there S&A and all the SP’s out there,
‘It’s really a question of whether you believe the woman.’
I think that Robert Deniro’s quote sums up my feelings about this fucking Asshole skank….
‘Shut the fuck up’
Thank you for your attention.
Spot on, io. Yeah but if you even suggest having empathy for survivors, you're "sick" according to SouthpawDE.

Correction center; E Jean not Gene. sorry about that duh.
That's true. I'm furious that they are even trying to stiff her on what she's owed.
Hope fully sooner than later
The woman is always the fall guy according to trump the pedophile/ molester himself
So true. I’ve got to stop saying i can't believe. He's a menace

I agree; I'm constantly thinking about what he has done now?

Goofus and Gallant are still around. My 7yo gets Highlights magazine every month. That's the first thing I look for.

On note 5. The call is coming from inside the house.
You betcha K0.
Loved Highlights!

That sounds ideal for her. I hope she does, too. Great to see firms and organizations coming together as well to fight back.
I loved highlights, Goofus was my favorite. Gallant? Notsomuch.
Turbulence
YIKES, what a shitty thing to say. I can only imagine what he must have uttered to HIS frightened kids.
925 days (🤞 or sooner) till tiny tantrum Trump is out of office.
“Federal crime-fighting task force” AKA ICE THUGS. Take them down.

I will take Goofus and Gallant any day over an entitled bro like Platner. Thanks for calling out the bullshit.
We all have a bit of Goofus in us.
No shame.
