Why are some people so afraid of trans-people? Homosexuals? People who are different? It strikes me as ignorance that leads them out of fear to strike out. Have they no compassion or identification with people who are victims of society’s prejudices? Have they never been made to suffer from peer injustices, to be made to feel inferiority or shame by others? How can they not have compassion? Are they so insecure that they allow others to determine their opinions, their hates and their loves. It looks like ignorance. It baffles me.
In general, Rethuglicans have seemed extremely fixated on sex and gender—and not in a good way. Ignorance, insecurity, and fear of The Other make a nasty combination. It's best we avoid them.

I think Jill Biden ,aside from promoting her book, is giving notice to the public that Joe Biden's time on earth is coming sooner than later. Getting out in public may be one way for her to deal with it - therapy. I have such mixed feelings about Graham Platner. I remember when Anthony Wiener was fired by Nancy Pelosi for sexting. He too was a strong advocate for the issues Democrats care about. And yet, I also believe that we should focus on policy not personal shortcomings...unless those shortcomings are harming others, which I believe sexting does. Isn't Platner's sexting in the past, though? Who of us hasn't done stupid shit in the past? Mixed feelings still....
