You love tariffs, because you tell yourself that other countries impose them on American products, but until your esteemed, courageous, fearless, all-knowing self, the United States didn't impose tariffs on anyone else. So we wound up unable to sell anything abroad, and everyone else sold us stuff cheap. Which, without the benefit of your magnificent vision, we foolishly bought, because we liked the Deal (you'll remember that's one of your favorite words). So you have brilliantly and magnificently done two things at the same time, and they have combined to relieve us of many problems, including things we didn't realize were problems, like being able to buy stuff cheap. You have imposed tariffs, so we're not seduced into buying stuff cheap any more, and you've deported the people who worked here for little money, contributing to another version of our problem of buying stuff cheap. Your far-sighted and ingenious plan is that since your tariffs have raised prices, so we can't buy stuff cheap, as we foolishly told ourselves we wanted to do, and other countries will then have to manufacture in this country, we can offer jobs to Americans (who already had jobs). And because you've deported so many people, Americans now have the opportunity to do the jobs they didn't want to do, for less than they wanted to earn. Either that, or they don't eat and have the stuff that used to be cheap, but will now be expensive. Which means they'll have to spend more, but they'll make less. Not everyone would have had that kind of vision, which is why you're our guy.
And of course you also point out that we have a housing crisis, because there isn't any housing left, since it's all inhabited by the Immigrants you're busy Deporting. So now, we'll have plenty of housing units, which the Americans who will not make enough money can't afford to buy. I think you might have to consider adding Homelessness to your list of favorite words.
