Yup I will never forget that time he goes to Cancun while I was coming home from work using Dart train. While waiting for the bus at the start station that never came. I felt hypothermia. Moments before my son got there I thought I was going to die. That felt real ugly. I jumped in the truck and just busted out crying because I was feeling pain and fear. Some real scary moments.
I'm so sorry that you had to go thru that. I know they were hard times - maybe it helped us to prepare for these even harder times. Stay strong. We are all in this fight together.
I'm old school - I couldn't prepare more than I did that time. The wood I had stored ran out. Even home depot ran out of 2x4s that people were buying to burn in their fireplace. Everywhere else that sells firewood they ran out of were closed because they didn't know how to handle the COVID crisis. That's what the sign read when we went. Not to mention the roads were way too iced/snow/rain to get on the road to look for another place.
But hey, I went the cowboy way - I used my fireplace to make my coffee and cook a little.
I think that the Texas government learned their lesson. They are responsible for the TX power grid. Customers are responsible for paying our ridiculous power bills. Thank you 😎
Omg, I remember that storm well. No power, no water, pipes bursting in my apartment complex, no cell phone. Around 200 people died because of the power outage. I was a frozen stressed out mess. Cruz should have lost his fucking job for leaving Texas exactly when the storm began 👹
Same with me. For 2weeks no power no water. Gawd damn I don't know how we survived. We are on 3rd floor. It felt like we had the roof blown off. We couldn't get warm despite 4 layers of clothes and blankets. And we still had to go to work on some of those days.
