It’s Monday. There are 106 days until the general election. Mourning Sheila Jackson Lee, the VP is rolling and a few words about a great president.

Note: Well, holy shit, Sexy Patriots! That was quite a weekend. We’ve never seen so much real news, fake news and just general hot take bullshit in our whole lives. So here’s our hot take — let’s fucking go!!!!!!!!!!

We know there are a lot of folks out there who are raw about President Biden leaving the race, but to us it’s about the most patriotic thing we’ve ever seen and we’re going to give him his flowers in the news section. But at this moment, we are so goddamn fired up to fight for Vice President Kamala Harris that we can’t sit still. Seriously. Sam has been pacing and mumbling “let’s do this shit” since Sunday afternoon. It’s unnerving, everyone at TBS HQ is freaked out and we’re a little worried about him. We’re secretly switching him to decaf today. 

It’s time to come together, Sexy Patriots. It’s time to make history and save democracy at the same time. Trump and his fucked up party are terrified, and they damn well should be. So please consider this a full and complete endorsement of VP Harris and a full and complete FU to the scum who are going to come after her. We’ve got your back, ma’am, and we’re ready to help you win. Y’all have a blessed day.

Note eight: Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear, a possible Harris running mate and someone we adore, was on Morning Joe this morning and he ate Jiminy Diggler (JD) Vance’s lunch. Git ‘em, Andy.

Note nine: Republicans are about to be so gross, so racist and so sexist. So pretty much who they’ve always been.

Note 10: Did y’all see that dumb Aaron Sorkin shit yesterday? He wrote an op-ed in the New York Times about how Democrats should nominate Mitt Romney. So dumb. He recanted later in the day, throwing his support behind Harris. But it does make you wonder how the hell the West Wing was so good. More: Variety

Note 11: Donald Trump is the oldest person to ever run for president. Also he talks about Hannibal Lecter as if he’s a real person. So that’s the story now, right? 

Note 12: RFK Jr. is still a total dunce. No thanks, brain worm moron. 

Note 13: Before the big news yesterday, Trump held a weekend rally where he admitted that Elon Musk is giving him $45 million a year so “we have to make life good for our smart people.” So just more blatant corruption out in the open. More: Deadline

Note 14: Well this is awkward. Trump was also one of VP Harris’s donors. LOL. (Don’t worry. She gave the money away.)

In all the huge news this weekend, it has kinda gotten lost that Democratic champion U.S. Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee died last week. She was 74. The congresswoman was recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. This is a loss for the party and the nation. She was a fierce fighter for everything we hold dear and care about, she served in the House for three decades. Rest easy, ma’am. More: MSNBC

So in the moments after President Biden dropped out yesterday, it was unclear what was going to happen next. And then it got real clear in a hurry. First, Biden endorsed VP Harris. Then the Clintons did. And the endorsements kept rolling in. Gavin Newsom, Gretchen Whitmer, Andy Beshear, JB Pritzker. Everyone who could be a challenger instead got on team. And while they did, grassroots donors made their support known, helping VP Harris shatter fundraising records and put up a whopping $50 million in one day! Today, she is going to Wilmington to say hello to the campaign staff. Every Democrat we spoke to yesterday is so freaking geeked and ready to rock n’ roll, and it sure seems like a damn good sign to us that the VP was able to consolidate support so fast. We have always known that Joe Biden is a good man. And for the last several years, we have watched him lead this country with integrity, vision and decency. He is the best jobs president of our lifetime, he was the consoler-in-chief we needed after a once-in-a-century pandemic and he is the guy who stood on stage with Donald Trump and told him to shut up. But what Biden did this weekend was the kind of thing that makes a man a statesman. Trump loves himself. Biden loves America. We are endlessly grateful to our president for all his accomplishments, for his kindness, for his leadership during tough times and for his courageous and selfless decision to endorse VP Harris for the presidency. We know this couldn’t have been easy. Becoming a legend rarely is. Thank you, Mr. President. For everything.
