Happy Friday. There are 108 days until the general election. Trump’s sweaty boring BS night, some ominous words from the orange team and Biden’s team says he isn’t going anywhere.

Note: We did it! We made it to the weekend! Even more importantly, we made it through the menacing and moronic poop-flinging dumbnuts circus that was the Republican convention and that never-ending tranq dart to the forehead that was Trump’s speech.. And since the air is still quite thick with bullshit, we wanted to take a second to remind everyone what this election is about.

Love Biden? Hate Biden? Want him to run? Want him to step aside? Cool with us. But we aren’t forgetting that the stakes are what matter most here, and we know you’re not either. So the goal and the objective remain the same — beat the orange asshead criminal who overturned Roe, attacked the Capitol and accepted the Republican nomination last night. Sound good? Cool. Note four: Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Gershkovich was convicted in a Russian courtroom this morning and sentenced to 16 years in prison. It’s important to remember that Trump keeps suggesting he has a secret deal with Putin to get Evan home. Seems like that’s something that shouldn’t wait. More: CNN

Trump set a goddamn record for the longest convention speech ever, delivering a boring, sweaty, rambling at at times vicious diatribe that the news media struggled to praise. It was awful. Adam watched the whole thing. Sam tapped out and switched to basketball at the one hour mark. Here’s what we want to know — Trump used part of his speech to attack “Crazy Nancy” Pelosi and yet we’re still reading stories about his tone and unity. Why? There were some things said at the convention that the press might not care about but the rest of us should. First, there was that weird thing Trump said about never letting a losing election ever happen again. And then there was this from Trump campaign manager Chris LaCivita that really got our attention and spooked the shit out of us… More: Politico

So what are we doing?
The chorus of calls for President Biden to step aside has gotten louder. Biden’s top allies seem to want him to drop out even as people like AOC and Bernie say he should stay in. It’s a real mess, and we have no idea what’s going to happen next. Biden campaign adviser Jen O’Malley Dillon said this morning that Biden “is more committed than ever to beat Donald Trump.” Dillon and the campaign put out a memo saying they see a “path forward.” Hopefully we will get this all settled this weekend. Because we seriously can’t spend another week doing this shit while the press is kissing Trump’s ass. More: NBC News
