The main 10-year U.S. Census is not happening right now; the last one was in 2020 and the next is in 2030. However, the U.S. Census Bureau is conducting a "2026 Census Test" in select areas in Spring 2026 to prepare for 2030. They also conduct ongoing surveys, like the American Community Survey.

It’s not the racism that’s really scaring me. It’s the volatility of civil unrest . Who benefits the most by goading people into fights? I’m thinking the oligarchs want us to be fighting over everything that we hold dear. Then, they can raid the pantry while we’re fighting for our freedoms, heritage, in this case a man’s dignity. I’m not saying don’t fight. I’m saying fight hard, fair, fast and keep your eyes on the prize.

I just looked it up and found this headline from NPR, "Trump officials propose testing a citizenship question amid a push to alter the census." The field test being conducted in Huntsville, Alabama, and Spartanburg, South Carolina, is using questions from the American Community Survey, the comprehensive survey of American life, rather than questions from recent census forms. So the actual census is in 2030 next.
