Sam Alito is scared.
The miserable scumbag who stripped basic human rights from millions and millions of women and gave a pass to Donald Trump’s violent coup attempt is so afraid right now that he has emerged from his damp subterranean cave to show us what desperation looks like.
In two super friendly no-hard-questions interviews this weekend, Alito said he might retire next year. We’ve always known that this asshole stinks. But now he stinks like fear.
Because Alito’s admission is not an admission at all. It’s a Hail Mary from a partisan justice who thinks the specter of his retirement might help drive Republican turnout and help the GOP hang on to the Senate majority. There are no consequences or accidents in politics. Alito is doing this and doing this now to try and juice Republican turnout.
Republicans spent all of last year believing that an advantageous map would save them in the Senate even if they lost control of the U.S. House in the midterms. But Trump’s tariffs, his idiotic war with Iran and the faltering economy that resulted from both have put states in play that once seemed unthinkable. Just look at how terrified Republicans are in Kansas and Texas.
Kansas and Texas!
That’s why every time Trump opens his butthole mouth it’s to promise another bribe or to threaten to cut off states who displease him. Hell, he’s not even talking about his ballroom that much anymore, and that’s his favorite subject.
With so much fool’s gold in recent polls and elections and so many emotionally devastating results, most Democrats we know can’t even bring themselves to be cautiously optimistic about November. We think we’re gonna win, but, man, the anxiety is off-the-charts and not going anywhere until Democratic majorities are seated.
And who can blame us? Sure, the polls look great but how the hell can we trust them?
We can’t. So instead we have to look at how Republicans are acting. Where are they spending their two most valuable resources — time and money? Where are they deploying Trump? Where are they hiding him? Where are they cutting off ad buys? Where are they ramping them up? These are the indicators that can help us see how an election is going.
But thanks to Sam Alito and his bootlicking interviewers, we don’t have to guess. We know they are as scared and desperate as JD Vance in front of a closed IKEA.
It is, of course, grotesque to watch Alito agree to friendly interviews with biased journalists and then claim to be nonpartisan and apolitical. But we learned to ignore his dishonest bullshit a long time ago.
Instead, we watch what he does. And right now what he’s doing is acting afraid.
We are 30 days out from the midterms, and early voting is underway in a lot of states. We have them scared and desperate. So whatever you’re doing, keep doing it. And let’s make Justice Alito piss his pants on election night.

Fuck Alito. Fuck Trump. Fuck ICE.
Every decision he participated in should be reviewed...
