Donald Trump doesn’t hate Brian Kemp anymore.
Yeah, the Georgia governor who Trump tried to include in his illegal scheme to steal the 2020 election and has insulted repeatedly and publicly and loudly ever since is now one of Trump’s best friends.
After years of attacking Kemp, including at a recent rally in Georgia, Trump suddenly decided Thursday night that Kemp is actually a pretty good guy, posting a bullshit boilerplate tweet about he looks forward to working with the guv.
So yeah, that’s how fucking scared Donald Trump is right now.
The broken monster who delights in publicly and relentlessly torturing his enemies, came kissing ass Thursday night shortly before Vice President Kamala Harris walked on stage and blew the goddamn roof off the joint. Donald is losing, he knows he is losing and he is telegraphing that wildly.
He is campaigning in states like North Carolina, which were a few weeks ago considered safe. He is calling into different right-wing “news” channels at night to rant and tell everyone how great his polls are. His campaign is sending out mailers explicitly saying he does not endorse Project 2025. His convention ratings paled in comparison to the Democrats’. He cashed in Brain Worm Bobby Kennedy’s endorsement. Oh and he’s doing a 180 flip-flop on the signature issue of this race — abortion.
That’s right. The guy who is behind the overturning of Roe v. Wade, the guy who keeps telling us it’s working out beautifully, the guy responsible for millions of American women being stripped of basic human rights was posting in all caps on social media “I TRUST WOMEN.”
“My Administration will be great for women and their reproductive rights,” Trump wrote.
WHAT?!!!!
Two things are obvious here — Trump is both full of shit and somehow scared shitless at the same time.
We’ve seen him flail before. It’s kinda what he does even when he pretends it’s on purpose. But what we’re seeing now is a new level of rattled. This man is scared.
After Harris’s powerhouse speech Thursday night, Trump started calling into Fox and Newsmax to rant and the hosts were clearly struggling with how to get rid of him. Fox dumped him for someone named Greg Gutfield.
His campaign events are low energy. His birther routine is too tired and pathetic to be shocking. He looks older than before. Slower. Dumber.
Sports reporter Don Van Natta Jr. wrote on social media Thursday night that Trump posted on Truth Social 37 times during the 41 minutes Harris spoke. If Trump isn’t on some type of speed, then that is extremely messed up.
He even attacked Gov. Tim Walz for being an assistant coach, “not a COACH.”
Trump has lots of good reasons to be afraid he is losing. He’s getting his ass kicked in fundraising, crowd size, organization and really just about every other campaign metric there is, including seemingly every new poll that comes out.
But the main reason he should be afraid is because of what we all saw Thursday night — Trump should be afraid because his opponent isn’t.
Vice President Kamala Harris not only met the moment on Thursday night, she cleared it with such ease and authority that it must have shocked Trump the way it shocked our mainstream media. Both share similar biases and no doubt believed their own attacks against Harris that she is an incompetent DEI hire. But like a lot of those so-called incompetent DEI hires, Kamala Harris is actually the most qualified person for the job, the person who earned it and the person who deserves it.
She was in command Thursday night. Can you imagine any other crowd on the planet expecting Beyonce and still cheering like that when she doesn’t show? They did for Vice President Harris. And Trump heard them. Loud and clear.
The flailing has only started. The blatant attempts at cheating, the clumsy amateur espionage, the explicit and implicit racism and misogyny — that’s all just getting started. Because what the hell else do they have?
But Kamala Harris’s brilliant on-the-go campaign and perfectly executed convention make clear that Trump’s reasons to be afraid are only going to grow exponentially.
Trump is afraid, and he should be. But his nightmare is just starting.
Wisconsin resident here. Getting one of those mailers everyday it seems now "He's not involved with Project 2025!". I am using them for my firepit.
I'm waiting for the sentencing-and-incarceration part of his nightmare.
