We certainly had some military failures in our history, but this is the first failure due to the sheer stupidity of the President and his "brain trust". The incompetence must have Putin calling Xi and laughing themselves silly.
So far this looks mainly like a victory for Iran, as most of the items in a potential “Trump’s War” ad at the bottom here still hold; mainly because Trump presented so many goals for the war! Dems should play up that perspective on the war to counter Trump’s Administration propaganda about the war’s success.
Certainly, it can be said that it is good there is a cease fire and there was no destruction of a civilization. And it is good that the Strait will be open now (of course it had been open before the war started!). Importantly, the damage outlined in the ad has been done. For example, even if gas pieces lower now, money lost by citizens is gone.
