JD Vance is a piece of shit.

We know that’s not exactly breaking news, but somebody needed to say it.

Vance continued to distinguish himself as an amoral, soulless, heartless monster Wednesday, endorsing gubernatorial candidate Vivek Ramaswamy’s grotesque attack on Amy Acton and then doubling down on personal attacks against Acton.

While a lot of Republicans, including the chief of staff for right-wing U.S. Sen. Mike Lee, spent the latter part of Tuesday apologizing for pushing an ad that featured Acton’s mom calling her a liar, JD was only too happy to double down.

“When you’re mean to Amy Acton, she sics the American media and of course the Democrat Party operatives all across the state of Ohio after you,” Vance said. “But I think a person who is more worried about whether somebody says something mean about them, that person can never serve in the governor’s mansion.”

Hmmm. So what was the “something mean?”

Vivek is running an ad that features Acton’s mom calling her daughter a liar. This is the same mother who abandoned Amy and her brother, running away with the step-father who was credibly accused of raping Amy when she was 12.

Amy and her brother told the truth about what happened, and the people who made the ad already knew it was bullshit. They didn’t care. They went with it anyway. And JD Vance thinks that was the right move.

“I’ll be honest with you,” Vance said. “Whether the ad was appropriate or not is not really my concern. My concern is who is gonna govern. I have to admit I’m a little bit disgusted when I see Republicans who are whining more about that ad than they are about what the Democrats want to do.”

Hear that? JD Vance does not care if one of his friends is running an ad featuring a woman who chose a child rapist over her child. He only cares that some of his fellow Republicans had a problem with it.

And he didn’t stop there. For the second time this month, he stood behind a lectern and suggested that Acton has a problem with alcohol.

Maybe we shouldn’t be surprised that the people who attacked the Capitol and routinely side with Putin are inhuman garbage, but we keep thinking there will be some point of degradation that is too far for even the creepiest Republican.

JD seems happy to prove us wrong.

Something to keep in mind is that Vance wants to be president someday. That’s why he went on The View this summer to talk about his new book and apologize for calling liberal women “childless cat ladies.”

He should get used to that kind of name-calling.

On Wednesday in Ohio, a man behind Vance stood up, threw down his MAGA hat and called the vice president a “pedo protector.” Vance laughed it off.

This isn’t the first time it’s happened. And Vance ensured this week that it won’t be the last.

JD Vance is a piece of shit. And by 2028, every American will know it.

So yesterday we managed to share with you the breaking news that Vivek Ramaswamy as running an ad featuring Amy Acton’s mother telling people not to vote for her. We also shared that Acton’s mother stood by the man who raped her then-12-year-old daughter, eventually abandoning her children to flee with their abuser. It is easily the most disgusting political ad we have ever seen. Sadly, we were not surprised to see Trumpers like Laura Loomer cheering it on. CBS News Chief Legal Correspondent Jan Crawfor deleted her tweet Sunday Morning, but it was too late.

We had already seen the real her. We had already seen the real CBS News.

Crawford’s tweet was an endorsement of the viral exchange between U.S. Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed and a bigoted Republican plant who wanted to know why the Democratic candidate hadn’t condemned the Muslim Brotherhood.

As you can see from the exchange, El-Sayed of course condemned the Muslim Brotherhood without hesitation. But that wasn’t enough for Crawford. According to her, she “had to watch this twice to catch Dr. Abdul El-Sayed’s nanosecond ‘yeah absolutely’ response.”

“[El-Sayed’s] subsequent uninterrupted three-minute diatribe proving your exact point is the kind of spectacular self own most ppl only dream about triggering,” Crawford wrote. “Congrats.”

Sadly, anti-Muslim bigotry and pro-GOP cheerleading is not unusual for the new CBS. But this weekend’s developments are powerful reminders of what we are up against as we try to win the midterms, confront rampant corruption and fight back against surging bigotry.

And that’s just the tip of the right-wing iceberg.

This weekend, millions of Americans took to the streets for another No Kings march. The scumbags at Meta were apparently not happy to see that. And so Meta pulled down the No Kings Instagram page — when people needed it most.

Ezra Levin, one of the No Kings organizers, told Meidas Touch that “you can go to it publicly now, but we can’t post, and despite us trying to get back access to it while these mobilizations are going on, the No Kings Coalition has no access to the back end of that account.”

“Look, this is strikingly reminiscent of what we saw in Brazil just this week,” Levin said. “A court ruled against Meta for favoring the authoritarians in that country. And we might be seeing something similar from Meta in our country right now, but rest assured, we’re not going to stop organizing against this regime.”

Meta claimed it was an accident and apologized. We’re calling bullshit.

Because it also didn’t stop there.

Just weeks after all the major social media platforms refused to take paid advertisements for “Musk,” the new documentary about the world’s richest asshole, TikTok permanently suspended the film’s ad account.

So much for that liberal media bias we’ve heard so much about.

The truth is that there are massive and powerful forces aligned against us. While we bust our asses to restore democracy and decency in this country by sending postcards and small-dollar donations that many of us can’t afford to send, Elon sends $158 million to a Super PAC to try and buy a U.S. Senate seat in Texas. While candidates like El-Sayed swim against the currents of racism, white political reporters are happy to call him “defensive” and ignore the political history of the operative who challenged him. While we struggle to keep our sanity, self-proclaimed Democrats like Bill Maher and Stephen A. Smith dine at the White House with racist shitheads.

It’s a miracle we have any shot at winning these races at all.

But like the man once said, they’ve got the guns but we’ve got the numbers.

Trump and his allies and supporters in Big Media and Big Tech are doing everything they can to turn the United States of America into a Russian-style oligarchy. They have endless resources, control of the biggest microphones and an army of reporters pretending to be objective and unbiased while relentlessly pushing GOP talking points on unsuspecting audiences.

But they didn’t count on you.

Because, at least for now, we still have the real power in this nation. We still have the vote. We can organize even without Instagram. We can win Texas even though we aren’t the world’s richest man. And we can see the truth even when people like Jan Crawford try to push their gross bias and call it journalism.

That’s why we’re so proud to be in this fight with you. The odds are stacked against us, but we keep showing up. We keep showing up because we believe a better America, one that isn’t controlled by the rich and the bigoted, is still possible. If those special interests seem panicked and afraid, it’s because of you.

We’re coming for them, and they know it. That’s why their masks keep slipping. That’s why we’re seeing the real them. And no amount of deleted tweets or crooked oligarchs are going to stop us.

Trump claimed yesterday he was unaware that federal agents were going to raid Rep. With just more than three weeks to go until Election Day, we have come to the realization that Democrats and Indies are not charging to the polls as happy warriors with joy in their hearts. No, we’re pissed the hell off, and we want a reckoning.

Donald Trump is burning everything to the ground as fast as he can both figuratively and literally. This weekend, he dropped the mask and came out as a Putin pet. He also sent his goons to destroy 500 trees in East Potomac Park. He’s stuffing his pockets while selling out American values. His thugs at the Justice Department and the military are threatening everyone who hasn’t fallen to their knees in worship of Dear Leader.

That’s why Republicans are avoiding debates. That’s why Trump is campaigning in Tennessee and not Maine. And that’s why people are yelling at Susan Collins that they can’t eat road salt.

America is fucking furious.

And why wouldn’t we be? We’re being occupied by a fascist regime that boasts of how much it enjoys our misery. They’ve made clear from the beginning that their only real goal is to own the libs. People are struggling. Whether it’s high gas prices or just a daily assault on our values and our decency, Americans with good hearts have been forced to learn what it’s like to live under an evil leader who hates them.

That makes joy pretty difficult to find at the moment. But we have rage in abundance.

And we want to take it out on every last Republican who supported this nightmare.

Fortunately for Republicans, we are not the violent party. We are the smart party that channels our rage into organizing, marching, protesting and voting. We’ve done the first three. Now it’s time to vote.

We know you’re exhausted. That’s what fascism does. It wears you down. But we also know how pissed off you are. It’s about time for Trump and his goons to know it too.

So whatever you’re doing, keep doing it. Let that rage guide you for the next three weeks. Let that anger drive you to make one more phone call, send one more text, send one more postcard.

We know how you’re feeling. It’s about time Trump knew it too.

It was Justice Kavanaugh who said that American citizens who are detained by ICE will be let go with minimal hassle and after just a few moments. Fucking asshole. ProPublica is reporting today that at least 506 U.S. citizens have been detained by ICE, sometimes at gunpoint, and 12 have been deported. They fucking deported 12 U.S. citizens.
